Weekend labour

Official explanation by the Dutch government in English

Work in NL, Weekend labour
Most people work from Monday to Friday. An employer might also ask you to work Saturdays and/or Sundays. We call this weekend labour. Working on weekends Many companies have people who also work on weekends. These companies include supermarkets, cleaning companies, hotels and factories. If you work on weekends, you work on Saturdays and/or Sundays. You might work only on weekends, or you might also work during the week. This depends on your contract. Check what your contract says Your contract specifies whether you have to work on weekends. Read it carefully. If your employer requires you to perform weekend labour, this must be specified in your contract. If you have any questions about this, you can ask your employment agency or manager.

The Dutch rule

Arbeidstijdenwet, Artikel 5:6
